Overview
Video playback issues are usually caused by format or encoding problems.

Common issues and fixes:

Black screen during video:
• Re-encode video to MP4 with H.264 codec
• Lower the resolution to 1920×1080
• Reduce bitrate to under 10 Mbps

Video stuttering:
• File may be too large — try reducing bitrate
• Check device internet speed
• Use Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi

No audio:
• Ensure TV volume is not muted
• Check if the video file has an audio track

Video not appearing at all:
• Verify the video was fully processed in media library
• Check if it shows a thumbnail — if not, reupload
Step by Step Guide
Step 1: Check video format and codec

Signmitra Player supports MP4 files with H.264 video codec and AAC audio. Files in HEVC/H.265, MKV, or AVI may not play. Re-encode with HandBrake using H.264 preset if needed.

Step 2: Check video resolution and bitrate

For best performance keep resolution at 1920×1080 and bitrate under 8 Mbps. Very high bitrate (4K, 30+ Mbps) can cause stuttering on lower-end devices.

Step 3: Check device storage space

Go to device Settings → Storage. Ensure at least 2× the video file size is free. Low storage causes download failures and black screens.

Step 4: Re-upload the video file

Delete the video from Media Library and re-upload it. After upload, remove it from the slide and re-add it, then publish. This clears cached corrupted versions.

Step 5: Test on a different device

Play the same playlist on another screen or device to isolate whether the issue is device-specific or with the file. If it plays fine elsewhere, factory reset or replace the affected device.
